Tattoo kits contain everything you’d need to get down and dirty with a low key approach to doing tattoo work. These kits aren’t so much aimed generally at professional artists most of the time, but rather they are aimed at people who think they might enjoy learning how to use the equipment and maybe one day could perfect their craft. But for now, they’re looking for a simple way to get started without spending a lot of money, getting pretty much all they they need to get going minus any expensive tattoo chairs. (For them, the kitchen table will have to to do!)
What types of tattoo kits are out there then for such people? There are basically 4 types of kits sold on the market. Let’s briefly look at each type here in this article.
1. Tattoo Gun Kit
This is a tattoo kit that contains extra guns. Note that tattoo guns are also called machines, so you might see this advertised as a tattoo machines kit or a tattoo gun kit.
2. Mini Kit
The mini kit is an even cheaper version of the basic tattoo kit. You get a little less of everything and you also pay a little less than everyone else. But you still get all that you need to get started.
3. Tattoo Needle Kit
Similar to the concept of the tattoo guns kit above, a tattoo needle kit still has all the parts you’d expect in a kit but with an emphasis on additional sets of shading and lining tattoo needles.
4. Premium or Professional Tattoo Kit
These kits cost about twice as much as all the other kits above and are actually aimed at professional, working tattoo artists.
