Where To Research Before Buying A Single Duvet

by Helene Boncompain

There is no shortage anywhere of stores where you can buy a single duvet.   A store that sells bedding will sell a single duvet.  There are some stores that exclusively sell bedding where you are very likely to find a wide selection of duvets.  Then, there is the option of purchasing a single duvet online.  Regardless of where you may decide to buy a single duvet, it pays to make an informed choice on the product before buying it.  Although store clerks may be helpful in helping you make a selection, their primary job is to sell the product.  This is not to say they are being dishonest but since they’re trying to sell the product as quickly as possible, they may not provide all the pertinent information you need.  Having online access is where you should start your research.

There are a couple of good sources to check online.  The first of these is the online version of Consumer Reports.  Although a subscription to Consumer Reports Online is $26.00 per year, it does offer you lots of information you need to make an informed decision.  Products are not only ranked and compared in terms of quality but are also presented pertinent news consumers should be aware of.

Another site which is useful when shopping for a single bed duvet is Amazon.com.  Amazon primarily sells items online that are also available at a store or other web sites.  Unlike Consumer Reports Online, however, the information about the product can be obtained free of charge and you are not required to purchase the item online.  Single duvets sold through Amazon have the specifications displayed on the page.

You may also find that many of the products sold through Amazon are often on sale.  Sometimes, the items are on sale.  Though Amazon provides some good descriptions about the product, the most important part to read are the comments and ratings by customers who have bought the same product.  A manufacturer or store clerk may tout the product as being “great” or “excellent” but it’s the user’s comments you want to pay close attention to.  Better yet, it’s best to read as many customer reviews as you can for consistency.  If they all disliked the product, it’s clear that it’s a product to avoid.

The next site worth checking online is Yelp.com.  Though the site doesn’t specifically rate the single bed duvet you’re looking for, they do rate the stores that stock the items.  All comments come from customers.  Even comments about the store they made their purchases from are helpful in helping you decide if it’s a place you want to patronize or not.
