When I was 15 and got some inheritance money from my Grandpa, I thought it would be a sweet idea to get his name tattooed onto my forearm as some kind of permanent tribute to my Grandpa. Now, 10 years later, obviously the tattoo is still there, but my desire for it to be there is not. From the looks of my wardrobe, you can tell why: I always wear long sleeve shirts.
This tattoo was supposed to be a tribute, and now having it removed, I must make it clear that I mean no disrespect to my Grandpa – he was an awesome guy. But this tattoo is just making me look unprofessional to be honest and it’s time I solved it using tattoo removal. When I go in for a job interview, I feel ridiculous having a name on my arm in big black ink along with the birth and death date. I honestly don’t think my grandpa – a conservative investment banker from the midwest – would really feel like it was any kind of tribute anyway, as he certainly didn’t think tattoos or piercings were “proper” for a gentlemen. (And for a woman he thought it was akin to wearing a stripper outfit.)
In an effort to resolve this situation with my tattoos, I recently bought some cheap tattoo removal cream and I’m crossing my fingers that it will do the job. If not, I’ll be looking at some like tattoo laser removal, which definitely works, whereas tattoo removal cream seems to only sort of work most of the time. I’m hoping that my tattoo will be covered under that “most of the time” disclaimer, or else I’ll end up burning a hole in my pocket to pay for another tattoo removal service, but that will be better than all the money I’ve spent on long sleeved shirts over the years!
