Collectible Neck Lanyards

by Laurie Porter

Sports teams have entered into the arena of collectible by adding their team logos and colors to neck lanyards. These lanyards are sold online and at team shops as a way to hold tickets and keep them from getting folded or torn. A ticket lanyard serves a dual purpose of protecting the ticket while showing it off for the ushers or security to see. Worn on the front of your clothing it now becomes an access pass to your seat, instead of an after thought jammed into your pocket. With the price of tickets escalating it’s nice to be able to spend a little more and get a team collectible to protect the ticket. Once tickets were just that—a ticket, but now most tickets are collector’s item with a lot of thought and effort going into the design and layout of the artwork on the tickets themselves.

Sport’s teams aren’t the only organizations jumping on this band wagon. Different touring shows and bands have implemented the same sort of thing for access to different areas of the venue and again security is able to nearly instantly tell who belongs backstage and who doesn’t based on the lanyard and ticket they have hanging from it.

If you are short on ideas for birthday presents or presents for other occasions, you may want to check into all of the different neck lanyards for not only most professional sports teams, but popular movies, bands, and even websites. If you are able to figure out what hobbies or passions the person has there is probably a neck lanyard to go along with that. Originally intended to serve as a key holder or a name badge holder lanyards have moved into the position of sought after collectibles. Maybe you could start a young person on a new hobby of collecting neck lanyards by providing them with several as a start for a birthday present. With a little ingenuity it’s no telling how far they may take it.
