It is not unusual for some deodorants to leave ugly stains on our favorite clothes.
These tips will show you how to remove deodorant stains from shirts and other clothes.
Sometimes the deodorant left some residue on the clothing, remove the residue before proceeding. Place a blotting paper on the area and apply a hot iron. Normally the paper will absorb all the residue of deodorant. Now you will only have to remove the stain left by perspiration. You can do that with a cloth soaked with a mixture of water and ammonia (70% water 30% ammonia).
Let’s look at removing sweat stains as well as they often accompany deodorant stains.
If you don’t have the opportunity to rinse sweat stains with warm water right away, you can remove them by dabbing with a cloth soaked in white vinegar or with diluted ammonia.
If you are trying to remove perspiration stains from a white shirt you can also do that with a cloth soaked in hydrogen peroxide.

Nothing can ruin good clothes like sweat stains. You will save money by being able to remove these stains instead of sending the clothes to the cleaners. On wool it is preferable to use water with white vinegar on a sweat stain. To get sweat stains out of delicate fabrics you can use slightly diluted lemon juice on a cloth. Dab do not rub! Let it dry then wash as you normally do. |
If a shirt or other garment is very discolored by sweat stains, soak it as soon as possible in a 50/50 solution of water and white vinegar.
