How to Get Free Rubber Wristbands

by wendyprather

Wrist accessories have been popular for ages. Before people were using rubber wristbands they were wearing watches and before watches they wore bangles and before then they wore bracelets. For some reason people just don’t like the way their wrists look naked and they want to jazz them up a little bit. Who can blame them really? If you’re looking for a cheap way to spice up your own wrist you will be pleased to know that there are numerous ways for you to get your hands on some rubber wristbands absolutely free. You just have to sacrifice a little bit of that artistic spirit.

Companies, charitable organizations, and youth groups have started to use rubber wristbands as marketing tools to get their brands and slogans out there in the eyes of the public. The trend all started when Lance Armstrong wore a red rubber wristband while beating cancer and winning consecutive Tour De Frances. His “Live Strong” bracelets inspired endless franchises, including the likes of Stephen Colbert, on a marketing campaign revolving completely around the wrist.

So, how can you get your hands on some free rubber wristbands? It’s as simple as going to an organized function on any college campus, or out on a beach in the midst of Spring Break. When you’re out looking for freebie wristbands you can’t be picky. Most of the major beer companies will give out their rubber wristbands at clubs, bars, and parties where their beer is sponsoring the event so you can get some there if you like.

The idea is basically to go to any corporate sponsored event where teenagers or college-aged kids are attending. They are the ones who set the fashion trend and so they are the ones most likely to wear the wristbands if they are given out. If you’re not much of a corporate slogans type of guy you can always shop around online and see if any charitable organizations are giving away rubber wristbands for small (or expected) donations and then just don’t donate. Just keep your eyes peeled and soon enough you will have a sports bag full of useless rubber wristbands you never wear.
