Gucci Mane Trap House (Album)

in Entertainment,Music

The Gucci Mane Trap House album is considered a modern day hip hop classic. It was released in 2005 under Big Cat Records (a label that Gucci is no longer affiliated with). The release really made this particular label get a lot of attention down south at the time. Some of the best tracks from this independent album release included: “Icy” featuring both Boo and Young Jeezy as well as “Hustle” and the title track called “Trap House.” There is a lot of great production from Zaytoven as well as Shawty Redd. If you have never heard these songs, it would probably be a good idea to take a listen if you are a person that likes hip hop and rap music.

Before Gucci Mane became popular, most people that listened to this album knew that he was destined to become something great. These days most people are able to recognize that coming out with “Trap House” was a huge step forward for his career. This was yet another solid release by an artist doing work independently out of Georgia. Even though it did not take long for the southern states to catch on to the fact that he makes good music, it took a little bit longer up in the north.

Most of what Gucci Maine raps about is based off of real life experiences that he has had to deal with in Georgia. He comes from the eastern region of Atlanta, but has connections all throughout the south. When he first started making music before “Trap House,” he mostly focused on making mixtapes. He had never had an opportunity to come out with a mainstream release until he met Big Cat (the guy who gave him a record deal). After he achieved a large degree of success from his song “Icy” he went on tour and promoted this album which went on to sell many copies, even though it was independently released.
