Body building is more than just blasting your body at the gym six days a week and stuffing your diet full of protein supplements. If you want to learn how to become a body builder, naturally, follow the tips below. Already massively muscled? Then skip this article and sign up for an amateur contest, there is always one close by.
-Exercise: Assuming you are starting a body building program from ground zero, you will want a basic exercise regimen. Jumping straight into heavy weights is a risky approach. Begin by conditioning your body with body weight exercises like push-ups, sit-ups, squats, swimming and sprinting. This develops the necessary capillary structure to provide your muscles with nutrients when the heavier lifting starts. Besides, how many push-ups can you do right now? Exactly. Develop a good base for three to four weeks, working at it every day unless there is latent soreness.
-Diet: Start this right away to form good habits. Eliminate 99% of refined sugars from the diet. Eliminate processed carbohydrates and junk food. The new diet consists of lean meats, vegetables, fruits, and a limited amount of whole grains. Drink black coffee if you need caffeine, and water, as your main beverage.
-Basics: When becoming a weight lifter, even if you are naturally large, lift heavy on the basic exercises. These are the back squat, deadlift, bench press, parallel bar dip, pull-ups, standing military press, barbell curl, bent-over rows, weighted sit-ups, and standing calf raises. There are others, but the key is to work hard on these first.
When are you ready to start? Look at your weight class in the body building amateur field you are choosing to compete in, and aim to cut your body fat and still be competitive in that class. Find a mentor to work with you on posing and tanning techniques, as well as assisting with final preparations before the body building contest.
