These days, people are making good money running their own food vending business from a mobile kitchen.  The logic behind starting a mobile business adventure is simple:  Low startup costs and the ability to move directly to where demand is located.  Compared to opening a conventional restaurant, the startup costs are just a small fraction.  When you consider a lease, restaurant equipment, and workers’ salaries, this adds up to quite a large chunk of change.  A mobile kitchen on the other hand can be found for a bargain price usually, and you really only need one or maybe two people to make it work.

While there are companies that offer brand new mobile kitchens for sale, this is almost always going to be your most expensive option.  The cost of purchasing a new truck with a mobile kitchen will be quite a bit more expensive than purchasing a used one.  The reality is that while many people dream of opening their own mobile kitchen business, most of these people simply don’t have what it takes to make it successful.  It can be for a number of reasons, including work ethic and the type and quality of food produced.  The good thing about this high turnover rate is that you can find great deals on used mobile kitchens.

While a new kitchen truck might cost $30,000, there are people selling used ones in nearly every major city in the world for $10,000 or less.  Even if you have to repaint the exterior and spruce up the inside a bit, the savings is still very hefty.  Before you buy one however, make sure that it is outfitted to do what you need it to do.  Some mobile kitchens are set up for specific foods like cotton candy or hot dogs, and others are more versatile.
