Easter is a fun holiday for both young and old. It is an opportunity to spend time with your family out in the snow or inside doing fun activities that all can join in on. Of course, painting eggs is a tradition that many adhere to each year. It’s simple, and all you need is some paint and eggs. Another fun activity is to make Easter baskets, and is something you can do with the whole family or on your own if you want to surprise them with your gifts.
Making an Easter basket is quit simple, and only your imagination is the limit for how it will look and what you fill it up with. Obviously, you need a basket, or baskets if you are making several of them. These can be found in most grocery stores when the holidays come closer, or at a specialty store like a florist. At the florist you will also find Styrofoam, which is perfect to fill the bottom of the basket so that the other fillings stay in place. If you want an authentic look, buy some artificial grass and place it over the Styrofoam.
Next you need to buy the items you want to fill the Easter basket with. This is where your imagination comes to play, because virtually anything can be placed inside. It is a good idea to think about what the receiver might like, and of course cater the fillings to the age group. If you are making personalized Easter baskets for your partner and friends you will probably want to fill it up with different items than for a kid. Candy is a universal success for all ages, but if your partner doesn’t fancy sweets, why not add a bottle of wine and some fine cheese?
For the kids you can buy any kind of candy, soda, fruits, cookies, or toys that they might want. You can even base the basket off of a theme, like Superman or Star Wars. These might be simpler to purchase though, but only your time and effort can stop you from making anything you want.
